Our region is home to a natural gem of inestimable value: the Marlington Bog. Formed during the retreat of the glaciers more than 10,000 years ago, this area has remained untouched by human activity for centuries and today offers us its exceptional attractions. Whether it’s rare amphibians, colorful dragonflies, carnivorous plants, or nesting birds, the bog is brimming with well-preserved secrets.

While access is restricted due to the fragility of its ecosystem and the need to traverse private property, it remains accessible during the season thanks to volunteers from the Society for Conservation and Nature Education (SCÈNE), a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving wetlands and aquatic environments and to spreading knowledge about these ecosystems. From early May through early September, you can book a guided tour of the bog by sending a request with your contact information to the following address: lascene.conservation@gmail.com

Notre territoire recèle un joyau naturel d’une richesse inestimable, la Tourbière de Marlington. Formé lors du retrait des glaciers il y a plus de 10 000 ans, cet espace est resté pendant des siècles à l’abri des transformations humaines et nous offre aujourd’hui ses attraits exceptionnels. Qu’il s’agisse d’amphibiens rares, de libellules colorées, de plantes carnivores ou d’oiseaux nicheurs, la tourbière regorge de secrets bien conservés.

Si son accès est restreint compte tenu de la fragilité de son contenu et du trajet à travers des propriétés privées, elle reste toutefois accessible en saison grâce aux bénévoles de la Société pour la conservation et l’éducation à la nature (SCÈNE).
